In Focus It's in the Bag Focal Points Riding Shotgun My Peter Lik Story

So you think you might be the next Peter Lik…

By Adrian Zupp

The Weather Channel is giving you the chance to show off your photography skills and win big with its “From the Edge with Peter Lik” Photo Contest.

Each week, on the show’s Facebook page, there is a new photo challenge with a particular theme. Contestants upload their photos and at the end of the week Peter chooses a winner. All weekly winners will be in the running for the Grand Prize: An all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas and beyond.

The trip includes all transportation and accommodations, a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, a tour of one of Peter’s Las Vegas galleries, and $500 to spend as you please.

So what are you waiting for? You’ve been inspired by the show so let’s see what you can do.

And good luck!

  1. It’s unfortunate that the “next Peter Lik” can not be from Australia. In this day and age it truly sickens me that this contest is only open to American Citizens.

I don’t need the money, I don’t need the fame, I don’t need the trip to Las Vegas but I would like an honest shake regardless of where I reside.

  2. Hi Stephen. We hear what you’re saying but the rules relate to the TV station and its audience and are pretty standard. There’d be contests in Australia not open to Americans, for example. There’s nothing we can do about it — we have no sway over what TV stations can and can’t do and their contests. We want the show to go global too. So our fingers are crossed. Thanks.
