Peter also graced the water charity’s online auction with the donation of an Artist Proof of “Allure.”

Waikiki. The very name evokes beauty, excitement and a sense of romance. Which is exactly what you can expect when you visit LIK WAIKIKI, the most engaging business in the Waikiki shopping district. The sea breeze almost ushers you into this enclave of world-renowned fine art. Locals and tourists alike have made the gallery a favored destination since it opened in March 2006, many leaving with Peter Lik originals to grace their homes and add something to their lives.
A key piece of equipment in Peter’s bag is his new Phase One IQ180 digital back – one of those digital wonders that are emblematic of just how far photography has come. Peter uses the back extensively, and why not? The Danish-made image sensor boasts a mighty 80 megapixels! Phase One also released 60-megapixel P65+ and 40-megapixel P45+ backs, and Peter has these in his arsenal as well. But it’s the monster 80MP that has the Master Photographer really fired up. “It’s an amazing thing,” said Peter. “Eight megs resolution and 12.5.f-stop dynamic range, and the touch screen is bloody awesome -- you can pan and zoom and check through your shots easily. Love it!”
